Add Democrats.US Headlines
To Your Website

Want to add Democrats.US headlines to your website? It's easy and free for all Democratic and anti-Bush websites and weblogs. Just follow these instructions then email us to let us know the headlines are working.

Copy and paste one of the codes below into the HTML code area of your website. You can choose between 5, 15 or 25 daily headlines. You can also change the color of your headlines. Just scroll down to the "Different Color" option and choose between black or white text headlines, with blue or yellow headers and footers. (Headers and footers are the links above and below the headlines.) You can even create and place your headlines in a vertical column like you see in newspapers. Scroll down to the "Questions and Answers" section at the very bottom of this page to see how this is done.

Although we do not offer technical support for any code, an independent contractor programmer has volunteered to install the code onto your website for $15. If you get stuck, please email Josh at .

Enjoy.

General Questions and Answers

Q: How do I control the number of headlines retrieved?

A: By default, the code will retrieve 15 story headlines. If you'd like to receive a different amount, just change the part of the code where it says ?headlines=15"> and select the number of headlines that you want. For example, if you want only 5 headlines, the <script> line should read exactly like this:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.democrats.us/cgi-bin/news/news.pl?headlines=5">
</script>

If you scroll up this page you will see the complete codes for 5, 15 or 25 headlines.

Q: How do I change the text color of the headlines, headers and footers?

A: By default, the headline text is black and the headers and footers are light blue. (Headers and footers are the links just above and below the story headlines.) If you have a website or blog with a dark background you may prefer white headlines with yellow headers and footers. For this option please scroll up this page to where you see, "Different Color?" To promote consistency no other color options are permitted without the written consent of Democrats.US.

Q: How do I change the width of the headlines?

A:
The headlines are as wide as the HTML block enclosing them. Therefore, if you want to control their width, you can place the headlines inside any HTML block with a fixed width, like a table. This would look something like the following:

<table width="250">
<tr>
<td>
<style type="text/css"> a.dems_headline { color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; } a.dems_advert { color: blue; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; }
</style>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.democrats.us/cgi-bin/news/news.pl?headlines=15">
</script>
</p>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

With the above code your headlines would look like this:
