Debate Shows Kerry Better Prepared to Lead

By: Jared Cram

Senator John Kerry and President George Bush engaged in a debate about one of the most important issues of our time, foreign policy in an age of international terrorism. We saw two very different perspectives on how we can best navigate these difficult and treacherous waters.

After examining these two worldviews, I am sure that you came to the same conclusion that I did: Senator Kerry is better equipped and better prepared to lead our nation in this new era. He is better equipped and better prepared to protect our nation and to form new and lasting alliances while
repairing those that have been damaged and destroyed in recent years. Senator Kerry showed that he will be strong and forthright in the face of terrorism and will not flag or fail in the necessary battle to defeat and destroy those forces of fundamentalism and violence that seek to destabilize our nation. Furthermore, he showed that he will take our nation in a new direction in Iraq; a direction that will make our nation safer, stronger, and more protected and will allow the people of Iraq to protect and defend themselves as soon as possible.

Senator Kerry showed that he is willing and able to work with our nations, transform our military and intelligence agencies into forces designed to work within the new framework of international terrorism, and restore, rebuild, and recreate the alliances needed to make our nation safe in
today's new and dangerous world. In short, Senator Kerry put forth a thoughtful, lucid, and reasoned approach to truly making America stronger at home and respected in the world.

We were fortunate to see a new vision for America, a vision put forth by Senator John Kerry. I have no doubt that you were just as excited and impressed as I was.
